Polka dot is a pattern consisting of an array of filled circles, generally equally sized and spaced relatively closely in relation to their diameters. Polka dots are most commonly seen on children's clothing, toys, and furniture, but they appear in a wide array of contexts. The pattern rarely appears in formal contexts, however, and is generally confined to more playful attire such as bathing suits and lingerie. Occasionally, white-on-black small dots appear on more formal clothing.

Polka dots first became common on clothing in the late nineteenth century in the United Kingdom.Traditionally polka dots are used in the clothing of flamenco dancers and performers. Musician Randy Rhoads used a Flying V guitar with polka dots. Professional wrestler Dusty Rhodes was given a black outfit covered in yellow polka dots during his time in the WWF. This seemed strange at the time but went on to become a successful and memorable gimmick. Blues guitarist Buddy Guy regularly plays a signature Fender Stratocaster painted in black with cream polka dots. Some people associate polka dots with Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera, who used polka dots on most of her dresses during the late 80s and early 90s, as well as on the boxes of perfume Carolina Herrera, Herrera For Men, Aquaflore and Flore. In the Tour de France, the leader in the mountains competition wears a distinctive polka dot jersey (French: maillot à pois rouge). Although the King of the Mountains was first recognised in the 1933 Tour de France, the distinctive jersey was not introduced until 1975.

There were many other "polka" items, some of which include "polka-hats" and "polka-jackets." Most disappeared with the fad of the actual polka dance. Only the polka dot fabric pattern remained popular, and the name has been left intact over the years.

In 2006, polka dot skirts, dresses, scarves and tops became a fad in the United Kingdom. The polka dot skirts were usually pencil skirts. This started another fashion period, after which silk replaced the polka dot. The Pipettes were instrumental in bringing about this fashion trend.

The polka dot also appears in popular music. "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" is a novelty song telling the story of a shy girl in a very revealing bathing suit who stays immersed in the ocean water to hide from view. It was written by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss and first released in June 1960 by Brian Hyland. Before that however, "Polka Dots and Moonbeams" was a popular song with music by Jimmy Van Heusen and lyrics by Johnny Burke, published in 1940. It was Frank Sinatra's first hit recorded with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. The song is one of the top 100 most-frequently recorded jazz standards with arrangements by Gil Evans and others and notable recordings by Lester Young, Sarah Vaughn and many others.

How to Make u slim n healthy

1.Eat Healthy

The diet is the key to starting all this weight loss work because you can exercise every day, but if you are eating the wrong foods the weight will not change much. Eat healthily three times a day and try to include salad and some lean meats in your diet.  Remember, calories count, so the basic formula of calories in / calories out still applies.  Weight loss means achieving a net calorie deficit!

2.Snacking tyme

Snacking has to go but to get in the habit of not eating junk food, you need to empty the cupboards and bin it all. If the urge to snack is quite high you need to replace it with something such as cups of  green tea, vegetables, or fruit.  Vegetables are an excellent choice since they’re filling, high in nutrients and fiber while being very low in actual calories.

You do not need to workout every day but at least be active and that means going for a walk for thirty minutes with the kids, on your own or with the dogs. You need to break the habits of getting in from work and just watching the tvand then eating dinner.  To be successful in actually losing weight, you need a sustained workout program ideally including 1 hr/day up to 7 days per week.

4. Resistance training

Most fitness experts agree that combining cardio with resistance training is the optimal method to achieve sustained weight loss.  Just because you are losing weight which in reality largely means losing fat, it doesn’t mean you can’t use weight to bulk up your upper muscle mass with resistance training workoutsthree days per week.  Use the free weights and bench press to improve the upper body and if you want a health supplement to try to help give your muscles more energy, creatine tablets have had some good reviews on their effectiveness in this area.

Sedikit latar belakang mengenai chiffon - perkataan chiffon berasal dari bahasa Perancis yang membawa makna kain atau kain buruk.well hey! its not kain buruk for real huh,tp kain "gojess" sbb dress yg lawa2 tu kbnyakkannya dr kain chiffon taw!

Agak mencabar dari sudut harga tetapi dewasa ini dengan adanya teknologi pengeluaran besar-besaran serta permintaan yang semakin membesar, harga chiffon semakin kompetitif. Perbezaan harga semasa adalah berdasarkan gred chiffon sahaja. Di Malaysia sendiri, harga chiffon hampir 10 tahun dahulu boleh dikategorikan dalam kelompok yang mahal dan sesuai bagi golongan berkemampuan sahaja. Hari ini, harga chiffon semakin menarik disertai dengan pelbagai pilihan kualiti fabrik.

Seringkali kelemahan yang disandarkan kepada chiffon adalah dari aspek penjagaannya. Demi menjaga kualiti chiffon, teknik basuhan kering (dry cleaning) atau basuhan tangan (hand wash) disarankan. Malah dalam beberapa kualiti chiffon boleh luntur sekiranya tidak dijaga dengan baik. Maka, jika dikaitkan dengan kos pengurusannya pula, chiffon sememangnya menuntut penjagaan yang lebih rapi akan meningkatkan perbelanjaan si pemakai.  Jika tidak, terpaksalah bertahan dengan kondisi barangan diperbuat daripada chiffon yang semakin menurun/ merosot akibat penjagaan yang kurang memuaskan.
